An Information Session on ‘A Day in the life of the Kearney Consultant’

‘A Day in the Life of a Kearney Consultant’ - an information session by Kearney at LUMS was held on December 2, 2022. Representatives from Kearney Dubai, UAE, Mr. Muhammad Zubair Basra (LUMS MBA 2019), Manager and Ms. Alina Majeed (LUMS BSc Management Science 2020), Business Analyst, conducted the session.
The session highlighted the professional and social activities of a consultant at Kearney; from onboarding a new employee at the workplace while considering the professional competency, as well as their well-being. The students were informed that at Kearney, a new hire is assigned a ‘buddy’ as well as a ‘Mentor’. A mentor gives them a perspective related to their growth as an individual in the organisation, whereas buddies take part in their formal and informal learning.
Mr. Basra and Ms. Majeed talked about the various training programmes offered at Kearney to build skillsets that vary with each position. Kearney also has a Master’s Funding Programme that provides educational support to any employee undertaking a Master’s degree during their career at the organisation. Once the degree is completed, the employee returns full-time to Kearney.
The speakers also shared pictures of their time at Kearney showing different social and interactive activities, which helped students in gaining a better understanding of the work culture. Kearney is also committed to women’s empowerment and undertakes activities catering to their needs within the organisation.
After the information session, students were engaged in Questions and Answers revolving around resume building, cover letters, interviews, and other areas.
