Packages Group Holds Virtual Recruitment Drive
Packages Group conducted its virtual recruitment drive via zoom on April 9, 2021. They targeted BSc Electrical Engineering and MBA students that are graduating in 2021.
Azka Khalid, Lead Learning and Development, Packages Group, and a LUMS alum, started the session with a brief introduction about herself and the team at Packages. Ms. Khalid also invited a few other LUMS graduates that are working at the firm to share their experiences. She then stated that since the firm's inception, its story has been one of national triumph. With over 60 years of being a market leader, Packages Group now has more than 3,500 employees, and 46% of their current workforce has been with them for over 10 years.
Over the years, the firm has evolved from a paperboard packaging company to a diverse conglomerate; with investments and operations across sectors such as insurance, education, consumer products, retail and business-to-business solutions. Ms. Khalid also shared some of their projects around the globe. A few notable ones include Packages converter, Bulleshah, Tri Pack, DIC, Packages Mall, and IGI.
Ms. Khalid also talked about the culture at the firm and shared that it is diverse, inclusive, people-centric, and learning-oriented. She explained that their Management Trainee Programme is a one-year programme, that has two rotations and offers diverse learning opportunities. Participants will get mentorship from senior year leaders and have the opportunity to develop a diverse range of key skills while launching a valuable career. She then shared the recruitment process and encouraged students to apply for the opportunity.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A portion.
