PSO Pledges Support to the National Outreach Programme
Pakistan State Oil and LUMS have been long-standing partners to make world-class education accessible to all, and to date, PSO CSR Trust has donated PKR 35 million to support talented scholars from the National Outreach Programme (NOP) at LUMS. To further solidify this support, GM Administration, Security Services Department and CSR, PSO, Brig Rizwan Ahmad SI (M), (Retired), presented LUMS a cheque for PKR 10 million at a ceremony held at PSO House, Karachi.
The NOP is a prestigious scholarship initiative at LUMS and offers up to 140% scholarship, which covers tuition, books, living stipends, and lodging. Since its inception, over 850 NOP scholars have graduated from LUMS. Recently, the NOP won the prestigious Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Platinum Award 2021 in the ‘Best Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ category.
Brig Ahmad at the ceremony spoke about the partnership. “PSO believes that it is only through education that we can take Pakistan to new heights and turn it into a developed nation. I am very hopeful that our donation will assist LUMS in its mission towards providing inclusive education.”
PSO CSR Trust is working on a wide array of social development initiatives through continued philanthropic investment in the fields of education, healthcare, community development, environment conservation, and disaster relief.
