PEEF Holds Interactive Session with Scholarship Beneficiaries at LUMS
Members of the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) senior leadership team visited LUMS on May 17, 2023, to conduct an interactive session with the beneficiaries of the PEEF scholarship programme. The visit aimed to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the University’s scholarship programme and gather feedback for further improvements.
The monitoring team from PEEF, led by Mr. Muzaffar Ul Haq Hashmi, CEO, included Mr. Naveed Akbar Cheema, Senior Manager Scholarship, Mr. Usman Zaffar, Assistant Manager Verification and Disbursement, and Mr. Usman Islam, Officer Verification and Disbursement. They were welcomed by Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, LUMS, and Mr. Anas Ashraf, Head of Development, Office of Advancement.
PEEF, an initiative of the Government of Punjab, is committed to providing equal educational opportunities to the less privileged and talented youth of Punjab. Since its establishment in 2009, PEEF has awarded over 435,000 scholarships to deserving students at the Secondary, Intermediate, Graduation, and Master's levels across Punjab and other areas of Pakistan.
As part of its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability, PEEF conducts regular monitoring visits to educational institutions. These visits involve interviews and meetings with the focal person or head of educational institutions, as well as PEEF scholars. The purpose is to verify the implementation of scholarship processes and gather feedback to enhance the scholarship programme's effectiveness.
The PEEF delegation had a chance to meet with PEEF beneficiary scholars, some of whom were present on campus while others joined the session virtually. The interactive session fostered productive discussions and resulted in constructive feedback from the beneficiary community. This visit provided a valuable opportunity to assess the scholarship programme's impact and strengthened the collaboration between PEEF and LUMS, reaffirming their mutual dedication to empowering deserving individuals through education.
