Online Networking Session Held With Nishat Chunian Group

The Nishat Chunian Group Online Networking Session was held on September 19, 2020 and was attended by Freshmen to Senior year students.
Ms. Arooj Pirzadeh, Manager HR and Communications, Nishat Chunian Group, started the session by introducing herself and the company. She explained to the audience that Nishat Chunian is a textile sector public limited company having 10,000 shareholders. She further said that the company gives its employees a platform to think big and encourages them to present their ideas. She advised students to work on their soft skills to complement their good technical skills.
She also shared some useful interview tips with the students such as doing proper research about the company and having a set of some important and commonly asked questions in the interview. She also highlighted that their resume should be grammatically accurate and correctly formatted, and candidates should avoid lying about their experience. Talking about social media, she encouraged the students to have a LinkedIn account that they update regularly and use it to network with other people within their industry.
Ms. Pirzadeh advised that candidates should practice their interview in a mock setting to avoid common mistakes. With respect to online interviews in the times of Covid-19, she said that students should still dress formal, sit in a noise free room and use a smooth internet connection to avoid any technical glitches.
In the end, Ms. Pirzadeh explained the recruitment process for both Trainee Engineers and Interns, and also encouraged students to send in their applications for relevant positions. She then answered questions from the audience.
Ms. Pirzadeh appreciated the informative session with the students and said that similar events should be organised in future as well.
