Office of International Affairs Selects Four Students for the LUMS-FHJ Student Exchange Programme
Four bright undergraduate students from LUMS have been nominated for an exchange semester to FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences (FHJ), Austria under the LUMS-FHJ Student Exchange Programme. The programme offers an opportunity to study at FHJ in Graz, Austria for the Fall Semester, 2021-22 (September 2021 - January 2022) and/or the Spring Semester, 2022 (February 2022 - June 2022).
The selection process was carried out by the Office of International Affairs with all the applications carefully vetted and evaluated on the basis of a written application, academic standing, proven leadership qualities and one-on-one discussions with students shortlisted for interviews. The interviews were carried out by an esteemed panel comprised of Dr. Saba Pirzadeh, Assistant Professor, Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS), Dr. Aun Rizvi, Associate Professor, Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Zainab Masood, Deputy Manager Global Engagement, Office of International Affairs, and Gulmeena Roghani, Programme Officer Global Engagement, Office of International Affairs.
This year the selected students for this programme are Rajveer Ahuja and Hiba Humayun from MGSHSS, and Saad Bin Shakeel and Muhammad Hashim from SDSB. These students will apply to avail the Ernst Mach Grant opportunity, offered by the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research, that enables full funding for exchange students from non-European countries to study in a full-time programme at an Austrian University (FHJ University of Applied Sciences) for five months. The generous grant covers all living and travel costs. In the past two years, all nominated students from LUMS have completed the grant's application process successfully.
