Virtual Recruitment Drive by the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan

The Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) conducted its virtual recruitment drive on Friday, March 05, 2021, for Undergraduates and Graduates from the class of 2021, as well as alumni.
Ms. Sania Munir, Senior Human Resources Associate at CERP, started the session by briefly introducing the organisation and its senior management. CERP is essentially a non-profit research centre based in Lahore with the strategic objective of informing policy and practice by filling socio-economic research gaps in Pakistan using rigorous economic research tools. She talked about how their research fellows work with policymakers in Pakistan to initiate new projects. Ms. Munir also shared the details of available positions and new projects, and explained the online application process.
She then invited Mr. Umair Kiani, Project Manager Scale and LUMS alumni, who joined CERP as a Data Associate and since then has been working with the Centre for over three years. He stated that he found the team to be very professional and supportive. He then shared his experience working with different projects and tasks which involved data analytics with a data driven approach.
Then Ms. Maleeha Hameed, Project Manager, Education Programme and LUMS alumna, was invited to talk about the “The Learning and Educational Achievements in Pakistan Schools” (LEAPS) programme. She stated that it is a longitudinal study investigating the changing educational landscape in Pakistan to synthesise findings and inform policy debates on education in the country. It is an independent survey and testing exercise to provide a framework for an evidence-based discussion about education performance and policy in Pakistan. Ms. Hameed then emphasised that they are looking for individuals with excellent writing skills who can develop the curriculum and assessments. They also need people with some technical skills like UI/UX, and other software skills.
Later, Ms. Alieha Shahid, Programme Manager, Women’s Mobility, and LUMS alumna, took the stage and talked about the career growth at CERP. She stated that the organisation is very accommodating in terms of personal and professional transitions and cares for its employees. She encouraged the young talent to apply as the environment is amiable and teammates are very supportive. She further stated that CERP provides all the essential benefits that an organisation should offer to its employees.
