Arco Plastics Donates to the National Outreach Programme

At an MoU signing ceremony held on March 17, 2021, Arco Plastics (Pvt.) Ltd. donated PKR 1.2 million for the sponsorship of one National Outreach Programme (NOP) scholar at LUMS.
The NOP is LUMS’ signature recruitment initiative and offers 130% scholarship annually to one out of ten students from remote and underprivileged areas across Pakistan. Since its inception in 2001, it has covered tuition, books, living stipends, and lodging for 1,272 students. These students were recruited from 136 cities, towns and villages through the Programme.
Ahmad Rafi, Chief Executive Officer, Arco Plastics (Pvt.) Ltd. signed the MoU on behalf of the company. Other representatives from the company included Mehar Hasan Rafi, Director; Umer Sharif, Head, Accounts and Finance; Muhammad Naeem, Associate Head, Marketing and Mir Muhammad Kamran, Head, Human Resource.
Also present at the ceremony were members of the senior administration at LUMS including Dr. Farhat Haq, Provost; Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Vice Provost and Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement.
Mr. Rafi appreciated the various initiatives at LUMS and discussed possible avenues of partnership, especially with faculty at the Chemical Engineering department at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering.
