Moderated by Ms. Sannia Hussain, Adjunct Faculty at the School of Education, this engaging discussion will offer valuable insights and reflections.
About the Speakers:
Hamna Taria
Hamna Tariq, a graduate of the MPhil in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) programme at LUMS, Class of 2020, is currently leading the Learning and Educational Achievement in Pakistan Schools (LEAPS) portfolio at CERP. She has experience in policy engagement, stakeholder management, intervention design, and implementation. In her current role, she is leading the Pakistan country research team for the FCDO-funded What Works Hub for Global Education program, which aims to implement education reforms at scale to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes. Hamna's experience at SOE equipped her with the skills to contribute meaningfully to research and education reform initiatives. Hamna remains committed to improving educational outcomes in Pakistan through evidence-based policy and practice.
Hassan Jamil
Hassan Jamil, an MPhil in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) graduate from LUMS, Class of 2023, is currently working as the Manager of Special Projects at Global School Leaders. His time at SOE honed his expertise in educational leadership and strategic project management, allowing him to drive impactful initiatives in school leadership development. He continues to work towards creating sustainable improvements in education systems, both locally and globally.
Hui Qi
Hui Qi, an MPhil graduate in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) from LUMS, is currently pursuing a PhD in Management at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), LUMS. Her research explores the intersections of the Chinese language, ancient Chinese philosophy, education, and CPEC, reflecting her deep commitment to cross-cultural educational exchange and policy.
With over a decade of experience teaching Chinese language at Pakistani universities, Hui Qi brings a unique perspective on language education and its role in economic and cultural diplomacy. Her background in the commercial and banking sectors further enriches her understanding of education’s impact on broader socio-economic systems. Since 2021, she has also served as the Vice President of the Chinese Business Council in Pakistan, working to strengthen educational and business ties between Pakistan and China. Her journey at SOE played a pivotal role in shaping her research focus and reinforcing her passion for education as a driver of meaningful change.
