The Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education is delighted to welcome back its alumni for an engaging session exploring their professional and personal journeys after graduation.
In this session, three of our distinguished alumni will share insights from their experiences and reflect on how their time at the School of Education has shaped their career and life paths. The discussion will be moderated by Ms. Sannia Hussain, Adjunct Faculty, School of Education.
About the Speakers:
Firyal Shah
Firyal Shah, an MPhil candidate in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) at LUMS, Class of 2025 (Weekend Track), currently serves as the MYP Coordinator at TNS Beaconhouse, Gulberg. In her role, she oversees curriculum implementation, teacher development, and student learning within the IB framework.
With over 12 years of experience in the education sector, Firyal has taught O’ Levels across multiple cities before transitioning into international curricula. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to enhancing teaching and learning practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of Pakistan’s education landscape.
Abdul Majid
Abdul Majid, an MPhil candidate in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) at LUMS, Class of 2025 (Weekend Track), is the Phase Leader for O/A Levels at The City School Head Office. In this capacity, he leads academic initiatives impacting over 82 organisations, 1,500 teachers, and several thousand students across the country.
A Harvard-certified educationist with more than 12 years of experience in EdTech, academic strategy, and leadership, Majid has served in key positions including Head of School, Phase Leader, and School Improvement Partner. His work reflects his steadfast mission to transform lives through innovative and inclusive education.
Areej Mahmood
Areej Mahmood, an MPhil candidate in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) at LUMS, Class of 2025 (Weekend Track), leads the STEAM Policy Unit, Punjab, at the Pak Alliance for Maths and Science. She collaborates closely with the School Education Department to promote hands-on, inquiry-based learning across 10,000+ public schools through the STEAM Pakistan Programme.
With over six years of experience in the education sector, Areej has worked extensively on teacher training, foundational learning, and policy design. Her efforts focus on strengthening education systems at scale and ensuring equitable access to quality learning opportunities.
