September 7, 2020 to September 12, 2020
Every year, LUMS invites the newly admitted class to visit campus, explore student activities and clubs, and interact with the leadership and the faculty. This year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, O-Week will be a virtual weeklong event running from September 7-12, 2020.
This comprehensive orientation programme will offer virtual meetings with peers and faculty. Students will be introduced to campus traditions, academic and co-curricular activities, and will be provided guidance to access online campus facilities and support services. A panel discussion on Health and Safety is also scheduled, where experts will share their views. Furthermore, a demo class session called ‘Welcome To My Class” will orient incoming students to the tools and methodology used for teaching across the Schools at LUMS.
Since the Fall semester is planned to be online, Dr. Suleman Shahid - Director, LUMS Learning Institute, Dr. Faisal Bari - Interim Dean, School of Education, Dr. Muhammad Faryad - Assistant Professor, School of Science and Engineering and the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arshad Ahmad will be holding a panel discussion on the mode of learning: blended and online.
The students will also be able to enjoy a concert by the LUMS Music Society as well as Mind Quest Rounds along with other fun activities. O-Week may be online instead of on campus this year, but the virtual schedule with lots of activities planned for the students will be an excellent opportunity for the incoming batch to begin their transition into life at LUMS.
