LUMS Alum Appointed Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan
Following a presidential order, LUMS alum, Majnun Mammadov (MBA 2006) has been announced as the new Minister of Agriculture for the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Mammadov aims to achieve a sustainable transformation of the country’s agri-food systems, improve farmers' agricultural know-how, as well as increase the contribution of agriculture to the economy.
Before joining LUMS in 2004 for his MBA, Mammadov held a Bachelors degree from Azerbaijan State University of Economics. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Food and Agribusiness, a joint programme of Wageningen University & Research and TIAS School for Business and Society, Netherlands.
At LUMS, Mammadov took an active part in the LUMS Entrepreneurship Society, the LUMS Adventure Society, and the LUMS Travelers’ Society.
