Convocation 2026 will honour our remarkable graduates across four celebratory ceremonies, held in morning and evening sessions. The detailed schedule and proceedings will be shared soon. Important Announcement
- We would like to inform all graduates that there are no convocation charges this year.
- Each student is allowed to bring one additional guest (in addition to the two guests already permitted). The charge for the additional guest is Rs. 8,000.
- The procedure for registration of the third guest will be communicated by the Office of the Registrar after June 18, 2026.

July 11 - Morning Ceremony

Neha Mankani
Neha Mankani (BSc, LUMS Class of 2008) is a midwife and maternal health and climate specialist dedicated to improving outcomes for women and newborns in vulnerable settings. She is the founder of the Mama Baby Fund, a community-based initiative that delivers essential maternal and child health services to climate-affected coastal communities near Karachi, while supporting families through birth preparedness, emergency response, financial assistance, and free, comprehensive maternal and newborn care.
Her contributions have been recognized internationally through the Heroines of Health Award from Women in Global Health (2021), the Woman of Courage Award from the U.S. Embassy (2023), inclusion in the BBC 100 Women list as a climate hero (2023), and the TIME100 Climate list (2025). Neha currently serves as Humanitarian Engagement and Climate Support Advisor at the International Confederation of Midwives.

Zia Akhtar Abbas
Zia Akhter Abbas is the President and CEO of The Citizens Foundation. Operating more than 2,260 school units and serving over 320,000 students across Pakistan, TCF has been described by The Economist as perhaps the largest network of independently run schools in the world. A LUMS alumnus, Zia completed his MBA from the Suleman Dawood School of Business in 1997.
He went on to build a 17-year career with leading global financial institutions, including Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank, before joining TCF in 2014. At TCF, Zia has played a central role in strengthening the institution’s fundraising, global governance, strategy and government partnerships. As President and CEO, he is now guiding TCF’s next phase of growth, with a focus on holistic education, stronger pathways for TCF alumni, and expanding the organization’s community and systemic impact.

Salima Hashmi
Salima Hashmi is an artist (b. 1942, Delhi), curator and contemporary art historian. She was founding Dean at the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2003 where she is now Emerita Professor.
She taught at the National College of Arts, Lahore, for 30 years. She was also the Principal of the College for 4 years, and held the post of Professor of Fine Arts. She is a painter of repute whose works have been exhibited in Pakistan and in international exhibitions. Salima Hashmi was the co-founder of the Rohtas Gallery in Islamabad, established in 1981, and established Rohtas-2 in Lahore in 2001, which has focused on young artists and new art practices. She recently curated a show of South Asian artists “(Un) Layering the Future Past of South Asia” with Manmeet K. Walia at SOAS Gallery, London. The government of Pakistan awarded her the President's Medal for Pride of Performance for Art Education in 1999. Professor Hashmi was made Professor Emerita, School of Visual Art and Design, Beaconhouse National University in 2017. The government of Pakistan awarded her with Sitara-i-Imtiaz in the field of Visual Arts in 2025. She is Council member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

Amir Husain
Amir Husain is a serial entrepreneur, veteran AI technologist, and author based in Austin, Texas. He has received widespread acclaim for his pioneering work, including recognition as Austin Business Journal’s Top Entrepreneur, inclusion in Austin’s 40 Under 40, and UT Austin’s highest honor, the Presidential Citation. Amir serves as Chairman of the venture incubator WorldQuant Foundry and holds board positions in several Foundry startups leveraging exponential technologies to solve significant problems. He is also the Founder and Board Member of Argon Mechatronics, a humanoid robotics company, SpecFive, a mesh networking company, and Navigate, a data platform.
An avid inventor, Amir has been awarded more than 30 patents in AI and distributed systems. He serves on UT Austin’s Computer Science Advisory Council, the President’s Advisory Council, and the Board of the venture firm Global Venture Bridge, fostering international entrepreneurial collaboration. He is the author of the best-selling book The Sentient Machine, co-author of Hyperwar: Conflict and Competition in the AI Century, and author of Serious Machines, Generative AI for Leaders, and The Cybernetic Society.
