LUMS Alumna Appointed CEO of Abacus
LUMS female alumni continue to break the glass ceiling and assume leadership roles across a variety of industries. Fatima Asad Khan, MBA ’97, has recently been appointed CEO of Abacus, a leading consulting and technology firm.
Ms. Khan previously held the role of Managing Director at Abacus. She has been an integral member of the organisation for the past 24 years, and has spearheaded major strategy and technology initiatives. Established in 1987, the firm has pioneered the business transformation services industry in Pakistan. It currently has offices in five countries, and serves over 600 enterprise clients across the globe.

As Abacus enters its next wave of expanded innovation and growth, together with our people and partners, we will continue to accelerate our ability to deliver innovation-driven business solutions to our clients worldwide, while providing the best career opportunities for our people,” Ms. Khan shared.
As the world marks International Women’s Day, the announcement of her new role comes at an interesting juncture. Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, expressed his pleasure at the appointment and said, “My heartfelt congratulations to Fatima Asad Khan on this great achievement. Fatima is a talented LUMS alumna and an inspirational role model to others who aspire to rise to senior leadership roles. We wish her the best in this exciting new role.”
Ms. Khan is also a member of the LUMS Board of Trustees, and credits her time at her alma mater as pivotal in shaping her career, and says, “I am grateful to LUMS for providing a strong foundation that enabled my professional achievements. The people I interacted with, the relationships built, and the lessons learnt at LUMS have helped me immensely in my journey.”
