Strengthening Pakistan–China Legal Cooperation through Executive Education
The Parvez Hassan Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (PHCCLS) at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) formally inaugurated its flagship Chinese Executive Programme, Law in Practice: Navigating Cross-Border Business, on December 8, 2025. The launch marks a significant step in strengthening Pakistan-China legal engagement by enhancing institutional capacity and practical legal understanding in the context of cross-border trade and investment.

The launch event was attended by H.E. Zhao Shiren, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, reflecting the Chinese Consulate’s continued support for PHCCLS’s work. Mr. Shiren was welcomed by Dr. Parvez Hassan, Member, Management Committee, LUMS; Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, LUMS; and Dr. Sikander Shan, Director, PHCCLS, and faculty member at SAHSOL.
The event was also covered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and the official coverage is available here. This recognition highlights the growing institutional collaboration underpinning Pakistan-China relations.

In his remarks, Dr. Parvez Hassan reaffirmed the Centre’s vision of serving as a leading hub for Chinese legal studies in Pakistan, emphasising the importance of clear, practice-oriented legal expertise to support regulatory certainty and investor confidence.

Bringing together Chinese executives and Pakistani professionals, the programme offers focused modules on contract and company law, investment frameworks, taxation, competition law, dispute resolution, employment law, and intellectual property. It reflects PHCCLS’s broader commitment to deepening long-term legal and commercial cooperation between Pakistan and China.
