LUMS Partners with INTEGRA to Develop Services to Support Young Migrants

A significant number of young people are impacted by geopolitical conflicts that displaces them from their native environments and support structures. Such individuals face many hurdles in higher education and employment in the local market.
Responding to the limited participation of such people in the socioeconomic fabric of the country, LUMS is developing tailored services such as training programmes and psychosocial services. These will enable young migrants and refugees gain employment in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, a major economic driver in Pakistan.
Project INTEGRA is funded by a three-year capacity-building grant from EU’s Erasmus+ Programme. This joint project has partners from Greece, Portugal, and India. Dr. Asim Karim, Professor, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, is leading the effort from LUMS.
